13th Annual Paw Pounder and Pet Expo

Johnson County’s premier outdoor pet-friendly event!


Humane Society of Johnson County’s 13th annual Paw Pounder is scheduled for June 11, 2011 at Franklin Community High School.

11:00 – 3:00

Arrive with your dog  or without a dog and register on June 11th any time between 11:00 am and 3:00 pm.  Enjoy a leisurely walk along FCHS’s walking trail.  Same day registration is available.

Various demonstrations will be scheduled throughout the event.  Come early so you don’t miss out!  Bring a chair or a blanket and plan on spending the day with your best furry friend.

Live music by The Snakehandlers and other local artists

 Enter the Frisbee contest and the Best Trick contest for a $2 donation for each contest.  Prizes awarded for the winners of each contest.

 Remember to bring cash for purchases, ruffles (raffle), contests, and food!

Credit cards will not be accepted at the event.

 Obtain pledges and win a prize. Each $25 raised in pledges you will receive one entry ticket to win fabulous prizes.

Online Registration has ended. Same day registrations are available on Saturday.

Author Neil Markey will be signing his new book, WOOF!  Books will be available to purchase.  Neil has been writing for children, and creating award–winning advertising for over 25 years. WOOF! is his first collaboration with illustrator Pam Spremulli. His creativity, humor, and love of dogs, all come together in this charming look at what makes every dog special.

 

Patty Spitler and Louie will be on hand to visit and sign autographs.  Patty is a host and contributor to Pet Pals TV. Patty worked for 23 years at WISH-TV in Indianapolis as an anchor and entertainment reporter.  Patty’s Bernese Mountain Dog, Louie is a certified therapy dog.

 

Walk at your leisure around the 4k trail at the school. Have lunch on the patio or throw down a blanket while you watch demonstrations.  Don’t forget to visit the various booths and vendors, and enjoy your day!
